Practical and commercial – experts with dual qualifications.
Industrial engineers are highly sought after owing to their wide range of qualifications. They are trained to think in two directions at once – technically as well as commercially. This double qualification enables them to take on interdisciplinary tasks. Industrial engineers know how to design technical processes in their companies and how to analyse business processes from both a commercial and an engineering point of view. They are also ideally qualified for tasks in the marketing and distribution of technical products.
Educational objective - the perfect symbiosis of economics and technology.
The experience gained by an industrial engineer in both technical and commercial areas requires training in both engineering and economics. This interdisciplinary characteristic is reflected in the curriculum that takes both of these aspects into consideration.
Apart from becoming familiar with the basic tools and methods for analysing problems and processes, students are offered in the studium generale a wide range of additional courses such as language courses, training in soft skills and management seminars.
The dissertation for the Bachelor’s degree is based on a technical business problem set by the student’s own company. The students are required to provide a practical solution based on the knowledge acquired during their studies. At the end of the course, the students are awarded the degree “Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Business Management”.
