Dr. Waymond Rodgers is a Professor of Accounting & Information Systems in the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California in Riverside. His teaching experience include from the U.S.A: University of Arizona, University of California, Irvine, University of Southern California, Atlanta-Clark University, Florida A&M University, University of Detroit-Mercy. Other countries include: Prague School of Economics (Czech Republic), Carlos III University (Spain), University of Valencia (Spain), University of Acala (Spain), Stockholm University (Sweden), Naples III University (Italy), Curtin University (Australia), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Dr. Rodgers’ primary research areas are auditing, banking, decision analysis, ethics, financial accounting, and cognitive modeling. His works include 5 books and over 100 journal publications and published proceedings. Professor Rodgers’ accounting, banking and management expertise derives from his employment as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. Also, he was a commercial loan officer for Union Bank. Consulting includes organizations such as Fed-Express, Citibank, Department of Defense, Italian Telephone Company, Microsoft, Telefónica, Santander Bank, among others.
He is the recipient of major research grants around the globe from the American Society of Engineering Education, Brazilian Research Foundation, Canada Research Foundation, Citibank, Curtin University in Australia, Ford Foundation, National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center.
In 2010, Prof. Rodgers has been extended an offer to serve as a distinguished Franklin Fellow. In this fellowship, he will serve as an advisor to the U.S. Department of State where he will work on global issues of importance to the United States, e. g. in the field of ethics in the international arena and ethical decision making. The fellowship is contingent on a federal security clearance and an agreement between State and University of California detailing his leave of absence. Both issues are expected to be successfully resolved by early 2011.
His degrees are from University of Southern California, Ph.D. in accounting, and a psychology postdoctorate from the University of Michigan. Also, he received an M.B.A. (finance) from the University of Detroit-Mercy and a B.A. from Michigan State University (accounting). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California and Michigan.
