Prof. Dr. Luis Filipe Lages is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Ph.D. program in Management at the Nova School of Business and Economics, Lisbon, Portugal. He also lectures Entrepreneurship and Global Marketing at the Lisbon MBA (in collaboration with MIT Sloan School of Management) and is Coordinator of the Innovation Module at the MIT-Portugal program in Bioengineering Systems (in collaboration with MIT’s School of Engineering).
He was a Visiting Scholar in several leading schools across the globe including MIT Sloan School of Management, Stanford Graduate School of Business, London Business School, Helsinki School of Economics and MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation. Additionally, Prof. Lages has conducted seminars in various countries across the globe, including Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Malta, Norway, Russia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, UK and USA.
His research has been published, among others, in the "Journal of International Business Studies", "Journal of International Marketing", "Journal of Business Research", "International Business Review", "Industrial Marketing Management", and "European Journal of Marketing". His academic work has received different awards as well as the recognition and support of several funding bodies both at the international (e.g. European Union, CIBER-USA) and Portuguese (FCT, Gulbenkian, PRODEP) levels. He is an "expert assessor of international standing" by the Australian Research Council (ARC) as well as advisor for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and for the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT). He serves as Vice-President of the Portuguese Academy of Marketing.
Prof. Lages managerial and consultancy experience includes both business and governmental forums. He has also been involved in several entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives, namely in the launching of the MIT-Portugal program in Bioengineering Systems (both at the teaching and research levels), in the launch of the Techpreneur program at Nova, and in the creation of the Innovation Platform for the Tecnological Plan of the Portuguese Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
Luis Filipe holds a PhD in Marketing and International Business from Warwick University, England.
