The concept of the dual-mode degree courses at the FH NORDAKADEMIE is based on the close interlacing between learning thoretical principles at the university and applying these during on-the-job training phases in the enterprise.

Theoretical and traineeship phases alternate in blocks.The university semesters last 10 weeks,the blocks of practical training average out at 13 weeks, leaving the students a maximum of 6 weeks`annual holiday.

The dual system involves a three-way contract.The university and the enterprise sign a contract of cooperation, the applicant and the enterprise sign a contract of traineeship for the duration of the degree course and the student is enrolled at the university.

Apart from in-company training costs, the costs for the enterprise include the trainee`s remuneration and the university tuition fees.

After a short time, however, these costs are counterbalanced by the very considerable benefit of a highly motivated and committed student working for the company.
