“Work hard, party hard”, this slogan sets the tone of  the academic year at the Nordakademie. The celebrations and parties start each November with the “Welcome Inside Day”. On this day students from higher semesters and the university management welcome the new students-the freshers- and give them a first impression of university life. The climax of the day is marked by a huge party organized by the “Campus Bar” student committee. Two or three of these parties take place every semester in the foyer of the Nordakademie. Some of these parties have a theme, e.g. “Carnival” or “Christmas”.

From spring onwards it is possible to hold spontaneous parties outdoors. This is why we have barbecue sites situated near our campus pond. On very warm days, some lectures are held in the arena or on the lawns near the pond.

The highlight of the year is the annual Summer Party in August, when many alumni and students celebrate together with their fellow students and lecturers.

The climax of the academic year is doubtlessly the graduation ceremony held on the last Friday in September each year. Approximately 200 new graduates in the three degree courses celebrate being awarded their degree certificates together with their families and friends and representatives from their companies.
