The supporting organisation of our university is a non-profit stock corporation – a unique system in Germany.The shareholders include the NORDMETALL employers’ association and 43 companies, predominantly from the northern parts of Germany. This supporting organisation is financed exclusively by equity capital. The share capital amounts to 3,162,000 Euro. The balance sheet total amounts to approx. 8 mn Euro.

As a non-profit organisation it is exempted from any kind of  corporation tax. Contributions to the university are tax-deductible.

The university is financed exclusively by tuition fees and contributions and is completely independent of government subsidies.

Committees of the supporting organisation are the shareholders’ general meeting, the supervisory board and the managing board.
