Prof. Dr. Mody-Kamdar holds a PhD in Management in the area of branding and consumer behavior. She teaches brand management and communications at various business schools in India and Europe. At the NORDAKADEMIE she also holds a lecture on brand management in the MBA programme. The course on brand management is designed to equip working professionals with the theory, tools and techniques of branding and brand management- to analyse and evaluate brands and manage them for maximum effectiveness. It will enable them to examine the different approaches and critically appraise the range of theories and frameworks in the light of current practice and strategic developments. This course is designed as a workshop- where students will get a chance to experience the role of a brand manager by working on a live brand case study. In groups, they will be ideating, strategizing and designing a new brand solution with quick prototyping as well. In India, she has been serving in several engagements as Associate Professor at NMIMS University, WE School (formerly Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research) and the Mumbai Education Trust, all of which are located in the city of Mumbai. In Europe, she regularly visits IAE Graduate School of Management (Aix-en-Provence), ESC Rouen Business School, and Euromed Management School in Marseille besides the NORDAKADEMIE. Her doctoral research work explored children and their abilities to understand brand images. Her work has been published in various research journals in India and has also been presented at conferences in India and at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Professor Mody-Kamdar began her career in Advertising at Foote, Cone, Belding, an American advertising agency. In her professional career spanning a decade she has worked with various international clients such as the Bajaj Electricals, Kraft Foods, McDonald´s, Procter & Gamble and Tata Motors. She has also worked with several small and medium sized companies in building integrated brands at an internal and external level through effective marketing communications. Mrs. Mody-Kamdar is also a founding partner of strategy and design studio, Connect Four, based in Mumbai, India. Connect Four is a strategic interdisciplinary studio providing end to end research, strategy, marketing and design solutions to clients across the world. Rutu Mody-Kamdar is a gold medalist from NMIMS University, Mumbai where she did her post graduation in advertising and marketing. Her doctoral thesis won her a large grant from AICTE (the Indian education governing body) as well as the prestigious C. K. Prahalad Award for the best Ph.D. thesis in 2010. She also holds a B.A. in Economics from St. Xavier's College.
