A range of seminars and language modules complement the compulsory and examination subjects in order to enable the development of soft skills, discuss current management issues and acquire specialised areas of knowledge.
Most of these seminars take place at the weekend. Bachelor’s degree students must obtain 8 ECTS credit points (approx. 240 seminar hours) from seminars. However, most students take advantage of the opportunity to acquire knowledge and elect to attend seminars for far more than the prescribed number of hours. Bachelor’s and master’s students can attend as many as they wish without restrictions.
The seminar programme with more than 100 topics is continually updated and enlarged, often at the suggestion of the students. For example, it is possible to learn Japanese since 2002.
According to the Bachelor's study conditions you have to participate and pass seminars and language modules equivalent to 12 semester weekly hours minimum (excluding the compulsory language modules of the programme) to achieve the Bachelor's degree.
The semester hours can be calculated by dividing the total seminar or language course hours by 10.
Further information about the credit points can be taken from the examination regulations (available in German).
When participating successfully in any seminar certificates are handed out as a useful proof for further application.
