The seminars and language courses complete the range of compulsory and examination subjects in order to enable the development of soft skills, discuss current management issues and acquire specialised areas of knowledge.
Normally the seminars take place at the weekends. Every student must participate in some seminars to get a specific amount of credit points. In fact, a large number of students take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for far more than the required number of hours.
The seminar programme with more than 100 topics is continually updated and enlarged, often at the suggestion of the students. For example, it is possible to learn Japanese since 2002.
According to the Bachelor's study conditions you have to participate and pass seminars and language courses equivalent to 12 semester weekly hours minimum (excluding the compulsory language courses of the studies) to achieve the Bachelor's degree.
The semester hours can be calculated by dividing the total seminar or language course hours by 10.
Further information about the credit points can be taken from the examination regulations (available in German).
When participating successfully in any seminar or language course, certificates are handed out as a useful proof for further application.
The seminar programme is also available for Master's students. All Master's students can audit classes for further education and qualification.
