He has a teaching assignment for "Marketing Strategy and Product Innovation" at the NORDAKADEMIE. This course teaches the importance of marketing and innovation for modern organizations in solving managerial problems:
• How diverse marketing strategy and innovation tools might be combined to allow firms to compete in a complex and ever changing global context.
• How to discover, create, capture and consolidate value through marketing and innovation.
• How to use market and product innovation to grow.
• How to bring a product, service or technology into a new market.
• How to redefine markets to find unexplored opportunities.
He has been a visiting scholar in several leading schools across the globe including Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), IAE-Aix en Provence (France), Korea University Business School (Korea), London Business School (UK), Stanford Graduate School of Business (USA), MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation (USA), and MIT Sloan School of Management (USA). Additionally, Prof. Lages has conducted seminars in various countries including Armenia, Austria, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, UK and USA.
His research has been published, among others, in the "European Journal of Marketing", "Industrial Marketing Management", "Journal of Business Research", "Journal of International Business Studies", "Journal of International Marketing", ”Journal of Retailing”, "International Business Review" and “International Marketing Review”. His academic work has received different awards as well as the recognition and support of several funding bodies both at the international (e.g. European Union, CIBER-USA) and Portuguese (FCT, Gulbenkian, PRODEP) levels. He is, among others, a member of the Editorial Board of the “Journal of International Marketing” and the “International Marketing Review”.
Prof. Lages managerial and consultancy experience includes both business and governmental forums. Within this context he was involved in the creation of different start-ups as well as in the development of several exporting and innovation projects, namely for the Portuguese Minister of Economy and Innovation as well as for leading European companies across different sectors (e.g. Erickson, Eurocopter, GDF Suez, Gemalto, Rio Tinto, Unicer).
Luis Filipe holds a PhD in Marketing and International Business from Warwick University, England.
