Prof. Dr. Mikkel Draebye

He teaches "Corporate Entrepreneurship", also known as Intrapreneurship, at NORDAKADEMIE. The module is about launching new initiatives within existing corporations. These “new initiatives” can be anything from minor process changes to spinning-off entire business units. The course is structured into 3 main segments:
1. Entrepreneurship Introduction & Overview
2. The Nature of Corporate Entrepreneurship
3. Creating the entrepreneurial organization
In the 1st part students will deal with the nature of Entrepreneurship. Without having a clear under-standing of what e-ship is and what entrepreneurs do and react to, they cannot create the entrepreneurial organization
In the 2nd part the concept of Corporate Entrepreneurship (CE) from both a theoretical a practical (case analysis) point of view will be introduced. Students will talk about how companies can organize themselves better to encourage CE in their organizations. There will be 4 cases to discuss.
In the 3rd part, the course will go more into detail with the (organizational and human) drivers of Internalentrepreneurship.
Prof. Draebye has also written handbooks and articles in the field of sports management, most recently: "Strategic Management of Sports Governing Bodies" and “Strategic Management of Football Associations”.
In addition to the academic activities Prof. Draebye performs activities in the area of consultancy, board memberships, guest speaking and training specialist where work has been done for the following major companies: Finance and Banking: Gruppo Reale Mutua, IntesaSanPaolo, Unicredito. Industry: ABB, 3M, Solvay-Solexis, ST Microelectronics, Electrolux, Whirlpool, FIAT, IVECO, SAS. Energy: Indian Oil, ENI, ENEL, Edison.
Prof. Draebye also has director roles in a few Start-ups.
Prof. Draebye holds a bachelor and master of political science and economics from university of Aarhus (1992), an MBA from SDA Bocconi (1994) and a PhD from Liuc Castellanza (2011).
Dr. Mikkel Draebye is SDA Professor at the Bocconi School of Management, Italy. Prof. Draebye is associated to the Department of Entrepreneurial and Strategic Management and teaches in the MBA and executive education program. In addition he currently has a visiting professorship at MISB Bocconi, India, LIUC University, Italy, Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Netherlands and Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Previously Prof. Draebye has taught at the Fudan University, China, Aosta University, Italy, Erasmus University, Netherlands, NHH, Norway and De Monfort University, United Kingdom.
Prof. Draebye’s current research interest is in the area of Corporate Entrepreneurship, where the most recent publications include "The Phase Specificity of Corporate Entrepreneurship" and “Imprenditorialita’ interna”.
