Study information
Your part-time master's programme at NORDAKADEMIE Campus Hamburg offers a unique combination of practical content developed in close cooperation with industry. As part of your studies, you will also complete a three-month interdisciplinary practical project that will enable you to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice.
This will give you a broad range of qualifications in all key areas of applied artificial intelligence with a focus on current developments. This content will prepare you optimally for the challenges of developing and integrating artificial intelligence into the world of work and significantly increase your career opportunities. The study modules include basic modules, compulsory modules and elective modules. For specific modules on the individual areas, see ‘Modules and dates’ below.
Your master's programme is a blended learning programme with face-to-face classes and self-study phases. NORDAKADEMIE provides you with all learning materials online and offline and also offers you personal support.
Four to six weeks before your first lecture, you will receive access to the first study materials. At the beginning of your studies, you will also receive your student ID card.
Consistent study groups enable intensive exchange and excellent collaboration. In the Master's project, you will also work together in interdisciplinary teams. All modules follow one another chronologically, with a subsequent examination. This means that you only have to prepare for one exam at a time.
Our recommendation: When comparing the tuition fees of private universities, you should always pay attention to ‘hidden’ costs, e.g. for enrolment, examinations or study period extensions. If providers do not disclose these fees or only inform you about them after you have entered your details in a list of interested parties, the fees are often above average.
A part-time Master's degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence at NORDAKADEMIE opens up excellent prospects. Technical experts who recognise the potential of AI and translate it into functioning applications are in high demand internationally. As a graduate, you will develop, adapt and integrate end-to-end AI solutions: you will identify data sources, select suitable methods, build convincing prototypes and transfer them securely and transparently into use with a view to quality, costs, latency, data protection, governance and explainability. In doing so, you will act as a link between the application domain, IT operations and management.
You will become the point of contact for effective AI, combining sound computer science, methodological depth and the ability to realise real benefits in organisations, far removed from hype and buzzwords.

Please note, that for studying at NORDAKADEMIE, a C1 level in German is required. The application process and further enrollment will therefore be in German.
Admission requirements
A total of 300 credits are required for the master's degree, including doctoral eligibility. Since the master's program comprises only 90 credits, applicants with fewer than 210 credits from their first degree must make up the missing credits before graduating with a master's degree. In this case, admission is granted on the condition that the missing credits are made up before graduation from the master's program.
Also a C1 level in German is required to study at NORDAKADEMIE.
Missing credit points
Since the Master's programs at NORDAKADEMIE comprise a total of 90 credits, if you have a Bachelor's degree with 180 credits, you still have to make up 30 credits by the time you graduate. You can do so before, during or after the standard period of study in the Master.
You can acquire missing credit points at the NORDAKADEMIE through
- up to two term papers with 10 credit points each
- successful completion of continuing education modules of 5 credit points each
- successful completion of a certificate course for 30 credits each
Term papers
You propose the topics for the assignments yourself and agree them with the examiner by submitting an exposé. Topics for which you already have prior knowledge, e.g. from professional practice or from continuing education modules, are suitable. You can begin with a term paper even before the start of the actual Master's program.
Important: Prerequisite is admission to the Master's program and payment of the first tuition fee. After receipt of payment, you will receive your access data and can register the term paper via the internal campus information system. For information on additional fees, please refer to the current fee schedule. It is due upon confirmation of the topic.
Further education modules
After admission to the Master's program or after payment of the first tuition fee, you can also take continuing education modules. You can complete these - as well as the term papers - before starting the actual Master's program. Costs can be found in the current fee schedule. We will confirm successful participation with a certificate.
